HISTORY

Katerina Petrova was born to a wealthy Bulgarian Family on June 5th 1473, but she wasn’t one to live by the rules of her noble status. Her younger sister on the other hand always did, leaving Katerina to be the one that would take a stand for herself. Though the young girl was admired by many suitors it was one that she caught the eye of, and she herself fell for. Her father never approved of the young man, due to his low status in their Bulgarian society, and Katerina was left alone. But she found other ways to love the young man, she snuck out after the sunset to see him, and one thing led to another.

By the age of sixteen, she was already pregnant with the man’s child. She became a disgrace in her father’s eyes and once she carried the baby to term, her bastard child was ripped from her arms and she was banished from her home. She left everyone behind, her mother, her sister, her newborn daughter and left for England where she quickly had to adjust. But after a few years of being in the society, she caught the eyes of a man named Trevor, which led to many things. She was introduced to Lord Elijah and Lord Niklaus.

Katerina was attracted to Klaus, until she found out what he was, and that he was planning on using her as a sacrifice to break the Hybrid Curse placed on him. She escaped with the help of Trevor, who had fallen in love with her. He led her pursuers astray and told her to go east, to a cottage in the woods where she would be safe, but upon her arrival at the cottage she met a vampire named Rose. In fear of being under the Originals bad graces, the vampire planned to turn Katerina in to Klaus, and she was trapped in a room where she tried to kill herself, but it was all just a trick to keep herself alive. After being fed Rose’s blood to heal, she hung herself and became a vampire.

Katerina returned to Bulgaria in the latter months of 1492 to find her entire family brutally slaughtered by Klaus. She knew he had done it as revenge for her escape and subsequent transition. She wept over her mother and family for days before someone noticed and she had to flee Bulgaria once again. But around the year 1498, Katerina returned to Bulgaria after escaping from Klaus and searched every village and cottage for her daughter, but had no luck in finding her. Without finding her daughter, Katerina went on the run from Klaus, killing to get away from him.

After years on the run she took one the alias of Katherine Pierce, to avoid detection from Klaus, before making her way to a little town called Mystic Falls, Virginia. She made friends with many other vampires along her travels to Mystic Falls, and even saved a young witch named, Emily, who forged her a special piece of jewelry with the stone Lapis Lazuli which allowed her to walk in the sun without being burned. Upon her arrival in Mystic Falls she was taken in by the Salvatore Family, one of the many founding families of Mystic Falls, having spun a story about being orphaned by a fire that killed her family.

Katherine met and fell in love with his son Stefan Salvatore, though she quickly began a physical relationship with Stefan's older brother, Damon, as well. Katherine created quite a few vampires while living in Mystic Falls, which inevitably alerted the Founding Families to their existence. Pearl tried to convince her to leave, but Katherine refused, claiming she had a plan in motion. Her plan, it turned out, was to turn Stefan and Damon into vampires, having seduced them both during her stay at the Salvatore household.

Realizing how quickly the Founder's Council would take action against the vampires, Katherine struck a deal with George Lockwood: she would give him the moonstone if he would help her fake her death. Due to Stefan’s love for Katherine, Giuseppe Salvatore learned of her true identity and used Stefan’s love against her, spiking his drink with vervain, and when Katherine bit him she was affected and taken away. Damon later went to rescue her, and Stefan, upset that he had hurt his brother and jeopardized Katherine's life, helped him in the effort. They were both killed trying to save her and she was taken away to the Tomb, where she escaped later in the evening.

Katherine was saved by George Lockwood and she gave him the moonstone, but instead of leaving right away, she ran back to Stefan and kissed him goodbye, promising they would be together again someday, thanks to her blood running through his and Damon’s veins, she knew they would come back as vampires. Katherine was still lying low to evade Klaus, and she kept a close eye on the younger Salvatore brother.
Years past and Katherine during the 1970s, employed the talents of the vampire Will, who owned the music club and bar, Billy's, and ran an identity theft ring that secured new identities for vampires. She used the identities to watch over Stefan and keep hidden from Klaus.

Around the time of 2010, Katherine had returned to Mystic Falls, which surprised both Salvatore Brothers and most of all, her doppelganger Elena Gilbert. Katherine’s plans were falling into place; she turned Caroline into a vampire, tricked Tyler into triggering his werewolf curse, and had the doppelganger plan in sight. Her freedom from Klaus was close at hand, but slowly it slipped away.

She was forced to flee once again after the sacrifice and being freed from Klaus, she escaped into the distance. But she returned years later to destroy her doppelgangers life and get the cure from all those who looked for it. The cure was her chance at freedom from Klaus, once and for all. But things changed, she killed Jeremy Gilbert, and later gave the cure to Elijah. But things took a change for the worse when she tried to kill her doppelganger, Elena, the cure was forced down her throat. Now after being a vampire for over five hundred years, Katherine is mortal.

But weird things have been happening in Mystic Falls, after disappearing once becoming mortal, Katherine found herself locked out of Mystic Falls. But somehow, during her wanderings she found herself someplace new, someplace she over locked in her runnings. A place called Rosewood. Could this place be her new home? Could she find some way to become a vampire once again?

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE

Feet padded against the soft pavement of the driveway leading up to the Salvatore Boarding House, after being turned into a human by her doppelganger, Miss Elena Gilbert, Katherine had been on the run. Though it was something Katherine was used to, being human wasn’t a good mix. After running for five hundred years from Klaus, running for more as a human would have been easy, right? Wrong. She had to stop and eat, and she had to walk. Walking wasn’t Katherine’s thing; she used her vampire speed, something she was familiar with. But no, now she had to haul rides, and she couldn’t even kill the person. Being human just wasn’t something Katherine wanted, and it was all her doppelganger’s fault.

She walked up the steps of the Boarding House, her hair slightly knotty from not showering in days. Her face was makeup less, her clothing all ratty, and her feet were killing her. Her heels had even broke when she was running last; she had to walk barefoot for miles. She groaned pushing the door open, it wasn’t like the Salvatore’s ever locked it. As she walked across the cool wooden floors, her eyes fell upon something she craved. Alcohol, but the bad thing was, she was a lightweight which wasn’t good. Her feet ran across the floor, dropping broken heels to the ground as she poured herself a glass. A throat cleared from behind her, and she spun around.

“Elena.” the Petrova said with a glare, her doppelganger was here, the one that doomed her to this life of hell as a human. It was her fault, and there would be no joy from killing Elena, ripping her heart from her chest. But alas, she couldn’t. Elena was now the predator, the stronger species, and Katherine was the prey. She smirked slightly putting the glass to her lips as she took a graceful predator step forward, “What are you doing here? I’m surprised you aren’t being protected by your boy toys. Oh wait, you’re a vampire now, you don’t need them. Am I right?” she asked with a snort placing the glass down on the liquor cabinet.
